Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, promises an unforgettable wildlife and nature experience. The park is uniquely bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45 meters over a remnant rift valley wall, forming the spectacular Murchison Falls. Here, the Nile squeezes through a narrow 8-meter-wide gorge and crashes into the “Devil’s Cauldron” with a thunderous roar, creating a stunning trademark rainbow. Furthermore, Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 73 animal species, including four of the Big Five that is buffaloes, leopards, lions and elephants. The park also shelters three-quarters of the world’s population of Rothschild giraffes, alongside a thriving population of herbivores, such as Uganda kobs, which can be easily spotted during game drives. Before entering the park, your journey begins with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only home to endangered white rhinos. Here, you will embark on an exciting on-foot rhino tracking adventure, providing a rare opportunity to observe these magnificent animals up close in their natural environment. Itinerary
Ziwa rhino sanctuary-Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the falls-Evening game drive
After your morning breakfast, you will be picked by one of our drivers and thereafter start your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. This is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. You will have your first stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and here you will be able to do your on-foot rhino tracking. However, the time taken depends on their location.

After the tracking, you will embark on your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. After checking in the park, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls. Here, the Nile waters makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream into the Victoria Nile. This place is good for memorable pictures and taking in the sounds and sights, so be ready to take as many photos here and videos for memories to take back home.

Afterwards, you will go for an evening game drive. You will head straight to the northern sector of the park for an afternoon game drive guided by the park ranger. Here, you will drive through different park tracks in search for different animals like the lions, hyenas, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, elephants, water bucks, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, etc. Afterwards, check in your booked accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Boat Cruise-Transfer back to Kampala
After having your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head to the dock for your boat cruise. While on the boat, you will be able to spot different water animals like the crocodiles, hippos and some animals at the river banks quenching their thirst like elephants and water bucks. Feel free to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife on water. Besides, the boat ride will take you to the bottom of the Murchison Falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. After this activity, you will exit the park and start your journey back to Kampala arriving late afternoon.
